Changing a Life Script Decision
Author: Brigitte Champetier de Ribes
Exercise for a difficulty that arises from time to time.
It may be useful to write down the various awareness-raising exercises; they will be more powerful.
1. I identify the difficulty.
Imagine it in front of you and name it, even describe it, until you feel a stronger sensation that tells you that you have identified the difficulty well.
2. I observe the difficulty, knowing that it will lead me to something new when I have resolved it.
Even if I don’t understand it yet, I thank it for being in my life. I know that it is part of a movement of the creative void, which we can also call the field of quantum emptiness, towards a qualitative leap in my life.
3. I observe it until I realise that I chose to have this difficulty because of the benefits it brings me.
I chose it unconsciously during my childhood, in order to survive family traumas and family entanglements as best as possible. Now, as an adult, I have made this choice again on several occasions.
I say to the difficulty: ‘I chose to have you in my life, to avoid xxx or to get xxx’. [xxx: whatever you feel is the appropriate reason]
It will help me to put myself in the place of the difficulty and feel it, then return to me, and then return to the difficulty every time I receive a new understanding.
I will know that I will have found the right reason by the emotion I will feel.
And maybe behind that reason, I will find an even deeper one:
‘I chose to have you in my life, to avoid or to get xxx, to be more loyal.’
4.- Being in myself, I heal the childlike decision.
I look behind the difficulty, into the distance. I can see what I wanted to avoid or achieve.
I let myself feel it in my body.
And I say to that which is far away: ‘that is over. I have grown up.’
And then I say one of these two statements: ‘You are you and I am me’ or ‘You for you and I for me’.
5.- I make a new decision.
Now I look again at the difficulty and I say: ‘I now release you from me’.
And I state my new decision, which may be something like:
‘Everything is paid for, now I choose to enjoy my life’.
‘I can by myself’
‘I choose life’
‘I choose to live my life’
It may be helpful in order to find the good new decision to put myself in the place of the difficulty and feel its reactions as I find the good decision
And with that new decision, I go towards life.
